Huygens Exhibition

EXHIBITION - MANAGEMENT CONSULTANCY

The rediscovery of the tombs of famous Dutch 'homo universalis' Constantijn Huygens and his scientist son Christiaan in the Grote Kerk in The Hague has led to a major exhibition based on the Huygens. Father and son Huygens witnessed a remarkable period in Dutch history. They were there, standing among the leading contributors to all the subjects that we have come to know as characteristic of the Golden Age: the arts, the (military) glory and royal allure of the House of Orange, the scientific revolution, the discovery of the world and the universe, and the leading role of the Netherlands in Europe.

XPEX has developed an experience concept that will let visitors see through the eyes of Constantijn and Christiaan Huygens and immerse themselves in the Golden Age, when the Netherlands and the House of Orange were the center of the world, and also experience the refined conquest of the English throne. The exhibition will place original objects in a modern interactive media context. It will be a contemporary presentation with optimized entertainment and learning facilities for a broad group of visitors.
