Huygens Exhibition II
EXHIBITION - MANAGEMENT CONSULTANCY - FINANCIAL AND BUSINESS ADVICE
In January 2011, the Board of the Grote Kerk in The Hague expressed its enthusiasm for XPEX’s master plan for a major exhibition to be held in the church. Now, in the second phase of the Huygens project, XPEX is elaborating on the plan in greater detail, organizing loan applications and helping the Grote Kerk to source exhibition funding.
The XPEX concept will allow the visitor to experience the Golden Age through the eyes of the Dutch 'homo universalis' Constantijn Huygens and his famous scientist son Christiaan. Both were there, standing among the leading contributors to all the subjects that we have come to know as characteristic of the Golden Age. Put together with the forgotten story of the refined ‘conquest’ of the English throne, the Glorious Revolution, this will make for a unique exhibition on the House of Orange, the treasures of the Golden Age and the revolutionary developments in science. The exhibition will be a hands-on experience combining original objects with interactive media presentations.
The huge Huygens Exhibition is planned to open in 2013.
