National Park Northeast Twente / Natura Docet
EXPERIENCE CONCEPT - MUSEUM AND VISITOR CENTER – PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
In the eastern province of Overijssel lies National Park Northeast Twente. This scenic landscape is filled with springs and streams and rolling ‘essen’ and ‘kampen’ (hilly pastures) alternating with grassy or marshy valleys, all formed originally by the great moraines of the Ice Age. The National Park would like to establish a new visitor center for the park, and combine it with a new look and feel for the Natura Docet Museum in Denekamp.
Together with the space designer, Paul Overakker, XPEX is working on the spatial concept and contents of the visitor center, museum, and the "satellites" located in various places in the area that are supposed to support the visitor’s experience in the region. The result will be a Master Plan and Program of Operational Requirements. The construction phase of the visitor center is expected to start on 1 January 2012.
