When is a book actually offensive? Do ‘offensive books’ fall under freedom of speech, or should we do something about them? XPEX designed the exhibition Offensive Books? for House of the book in The Hague. In the last hall of the exhibition, the visitor is challenged to think about and discuss what “really isn’t acceptable anymore” by literally ripping passages or titles from a book, and hanging them om a wall. The exhibition immediately gained major attention from amongst others the NOS, Volkskrant en het NRC.
